How did you get into bodybuilding? What impact has NeoLife had on your performance and training?
I started going to the gym and bodybuilding at age 58, and my first show was at 59. I’m going to be 70 in July. I’ve been in 10 shows and I have 10 trophies that I’ve won. In doing that, I’ve had many companies approach me at the shows, offering me all types of products.
It’s not that I’m in that great of physical shape... I mean I am in great shape for my age, and that was the factor. Most guys my age don’t do what I do. So a lot of these companies wanted me to use their products, wear their t-shirts, and all those types of things as marketing for them. They would give me free products and over the last 10 years I’ve used many, many different products, but I’ve never found anything out there that I noticed a difference with.
Now Jerry Brassfield and I have been friends now for 40 years, and we recently got back in contact. So we started talking again about NeoLife and I started using the NeoLife SPORT Nutrition line along with Pro Vitality. Within a couple of days I noticed that my energy level in the gym and my intensity level was more than it had been, but I just thought at first that it was a psychological thing and it was just a coincidence. However, now it’s been 6 months that I’ve been using the product and overall it’s really increased my intensity to train.
I’m 13-14 weeks out from my next bodybuilding show, which is to become an IFBB Pro Bodybuilder and these products have been a major factor in it. They’ve definitely helped me. I can feel it. I can see it. Just the other day, my training partner was saying “Golly! The intensity that you have...!” And he is 40, so I’m 30 years older than him and he’s having trouble keeping up with me!

Lifestyle is a very exciting word for me. “Life” is God-given, and “style” is “How you’re going to live it?” Through NeoLife, you have no limitations placed upon you. You can do whatever it is you want to do, become whoever you want to become. It’s a psychological principle... You can have more than you have because you can become more than you are. The only thing that’s stopping you or me or anyone else on this earth from becoming who they truly want to be is the story that they keep telling themselves. The interesting part about that is that if we don’t like our life, if we don’t like the story that our life is right now, we can rip up that script and write a brand new story. NeoLife is the instrument that can help us write a new story and allow us to be whatever we want to be.

A Global Scientific Event
NeoLife has always been a frontrunner in contributing to the field of scientific research by supporting young investigators. Since its inception in 1998, NeoLife has been a founding sponsor of Plant Phenolics and Human Health Research Interest Group (PhenHRIG) and has supported young polyphenol researchers. Established by our own Scientific Advisory Board member, Dr. Arianna Carughi along with Professor Myron Gross from the University of Minnesota. This exciting partnership helps keep NeoLife at the leading edge of nutritional science in order to develop high quality and competitive products year after year.
PhenHRIG continues to be dedicated to identifying the numerous health benefits associated with consumption of plant phenolic compounds in the form of phenolic rich foods or supplements. This year’s PhenHRIG Symposium was held on April 22nd, 2017 in Chicago and focused on the exciting new area of how plant phenolics alter the microbiome and human health. The Symposium attracted a lot of interest from eminent researchers in the field of nutrition science.
At this year’s symposium, Dr. Carughi was joined by Dr. Diane E. Clayton, another distinguished member of NeoLife’s Scientific Advisory Board, who also took part in the 2017 Young Investigator Award ceremony.
At the meeting three researchers were recognized for their outstanding work in the polyphenol field, and were presented with the coveted awards:
Jordan M.K.I. Oshiro from the Department of Food Science at Purdue University awarded for his research on: “Impact of piceatannol and resveratrol on the proteomic profile of Caenorhabditis elegans.”
Derek Martin from the Department of Food Science at the University of Wisconson-Madison awarded for his research on: “Anti-inflammatory activity of aronia berry polyphenols in Jurkat T cells.”
Xuhuiqun Zhang from the Illinois Institute of Technology awarded for her research on: “The reciprocal interactions between red raspberry polyphenols and gut microbiome composition: preliminary findings.”

Changes to USA Shipping Operations
In July 2017 we will begin shipping all NeoLife products, including literature, from a third-party warehouse and order fulfillment company with multiple warehouse locations throughout the USA. The company we have chosen has decades of experience in direct selling and direct-to-consumer order fulfillment. This change will allow us to keep our current shipping and handling policy unchanged at this time. We anticipate that the vast majority of orders will be delivered in the same number of days, however, some orders may come a day or two sooner or later. The benefit of not increasing our shipping and handling charges (which would effect all orders) outweighed the possibility that a few orders may take slightly longer to be delivered.
The last day for “pick-up" orders at our Fremont, California warehouse location will be June 30, 2017. The Los Angeles Distribution Center is not affected by this change.
We do not anticipate any interruption in our delivery services. However, we do appreciate your patience as we work through this transition. Feel free to contact Distributor Services at (800) 432-5842 should you have any questions or concerns.
